PORTLAND — Pearl District developers oppose plans to move a downtown homeless camp to a parking lot under a bridge in the upscale neighborhood.

KATU reports a lawyer for Pearl Hotel Investors and Hoyt Street Properties notified the Portland Development Commission that using the parking lot for a homeless camp would violate a development agreement.

The developers could ask for a court order to block the right 2 Dream Too camp.

The city council was expected to approve the homeless camp move at a Thursday afternoon hearing. The Bureau of Development Services said the camp does not need a land use review or building permits because it’s a community service.
