Clark County Public Health’s landlord training program is back by popular demand.

In June, public health officials hosted a standing-room-only event for Clark County landlords. They’re hosting another event this month.

The training is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C. St. Paid parking is available at City Center Parking, 703 Broadway.

The event is $15, which covers the cost of training materials. Lunch will be provided.

Pre-registration is required. Contact Carole Dalton at 360-397-8126 or carole.dalton@clark.wa.gov.

The training will address a variety of routine and emerging issues, including effective applicant screening techniques; guidelines for regulating marijuana use in rentals; lease language about rules prohibiting tobacco smoking and limiting guest stays; and partnering with public health agencies to support property management goals.

The event speaker is John H. Campbell, a nationally recognized expert on landlord-tenant problem-solving. The event is paid for by a federal Community Transformation grant.

For more information, call Theresa Cross at 360-397-8000, ext. 7378.
