FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill has returned to practice on a limited basis for the first time since suffering a concussion last weekend at Tennessee.

Hill wore a red no-contact jersey while participating in positional drills Friday, and his availability for the Jets’ game against the Falcons on Monday night in Atlanta is uncertain. However, coach Rex Ryan says it was an “encouraging” sign for Hill, who hadn’t practiced since taking a hit to his chin from Tennessee’s Michael Griffin on New York’s second offensive play.

Hill says he had headaches for a few days after the hit, but felt better Friday. He says he hasn’t been cleared to play, but adds, “I would love to,” especially since he played his college ball at Georgia Tech.
