Eastern Kentucky dominates Austin Peay 38-3

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — Jared McClain threw for one touchdown and ran for another as Eastern Kentucky dominated Austin Peay 38-3 Saturday in an Ohio Valley Conference contest.

The Colonels (3-3, 1-1) held Austin Peay (0-5,0-1) to 108 yards of total offense, including 6 yards rushing, while amassing 427 total yards of their own, including a 79-yard scoring run by third-string quarterback Ben De La Cruz.

Eastern Kentucky scored first on a 10-yard run by McClain and never looked back. McClain threw a 4-yard TD pass to Roman Lawson, Caleb Watkins had scoring runs of 2 and 3 yards and Luke Pray nailed a 23-yard field goal. Thomas Owens carried the ball 6 times for 100 yards.

Austin Peay’s lone score came on a 30-yard field goal by Chase Dunlap in the fourth quarter. Austin Peay is averaging 3.2 points per game and has scored only one touchdown in its five games.
