North Dakota downs Idaho State 28-25

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Dayo Idowu forced a fumble and Ben Peters recovered it in the end zone for the deciding touchdown as North Dakota turned back Idaho State 28-25 on Saturday.

Peters’ recovery came with 5:53 left in the fourth quarter after Idaho State had closed within 21-17 five minutes earlier. It gave North Dakota (2-3, 1-1 Big Sky) a 28-17 edge.

Idaho State (2-3, 0-2 Big Sky) scored on a 20-yard Justin Arias to Luke Austin pass with 2:07 left in the game. Arias then passed to Cam Richmond for the 2-point conversion. Kenny Golladay’s first-down catch at midfield enabled North Dakota to run out the clock.

Greg Hardin led North Dakota with 8 catches for 126 yards and scored on a 99-yard kickoff return in the third quarter.

Arias completed 40 of 66 passes for 365 yards for Idaho State and Austin had 11 catches for 98 yards.
