ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Champ Bailey was a full participant at practice Wednesday for the first time since he injured his left foot in a preseason game at Seattle on Aug. 17.
Bailey hopes to make his 2013 debut Sunday when the Broncos (5-0) host the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-5), something team owner Pat Bowlen implored of him after Denver’s 51-48 escape at Dallas.
Three defensive starters who got hurt in that game — middle linebacker Wesley Woodyard (neck) pass rusher Robert Ayers (left shoulder) and cornerback Chris Harris (concussion) — didn’t participate in practice Wednesday.
Woodyard is tied for the team lead with 35 tackles. Ayers is second on the team with a career-best 412 sacks, and Harris is tied for the team lead with two interceptions.
