BEIJING (AP) — Spanish cyclist Benat Intxausti Elorriaga won the fourth stage of the Tour of Beijing on Monday and holds the overall lead.

The stage win gives Intxausti Elorriaga a 10-second lead over Daniel Martin of Ireland going into Tuesday’s flat 73-mile stage from Tiananmen Square to the National Stadium.

David Lopez of Spain was in third, followed by Movistar teammate Rui Costa of Portugal.

Tony Martin of Germany, winner of the two previous editions of the Tour of Beijing, was sixth.

Intxausti Elorriaga attacked with a little more than 1 mile left in the 94-mile stage as the pack battled uphill to the finish in the mountainous Mentougou district west of the city center.

He earned a 10-second time bonus along with the three-second win.
