Hundreds ‘Walk to Stop Diabetes’

Esther Short — More than 250 people came out to Vancouver Landing at Terminal One for “Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes” on Sept. 28, and raised nearly $50,000 for the American Diabetes Association. Similar events were held throughout the country. There are nearly 26 million people in the United States with diabetes, including about 340,000 in Southwest Washington and Oregon, according to the association.
