Local and state agencies are hosting free Medicare enrollment events.

Medicare open enrollment runs through Dec. 7. During that time, people can enroll in Medicare or make changes to their existing coverage.

Through Dec. 7, Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors will offer weekly informational clinics at Luepke Senior Center in west Vancouver and Firstenburg Community Center in east Vancouver. Attendees should bring their insurance card, Medicare card and a list of current prescriptions.

The west Vancouver clinics are from noon to 2 p.m. Thursdays at 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd. No appointments are necessary.

The east Vancouver clinics are from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays at 700 N.E. 136th Ave. Call 360-487-7036 to schedule a 30-minute appointment.

In addition, the Vancouver Parks and Recreation Department will host a Medicare forum from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Luepke Senior Center. Representatives from SHIBA, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, Social Security Administration and Clark County Public Health will be available to answer questions.

The forum is free, but reservations are required. Call 360-735-3692 to reserve a spot.
