Clark County homebuilding held steady in September with the same month last year, according to a county report issued Wednesday. But year-to-date activity remains 63 percent greater than in 2012.

There were 54 permits issued to build single-family homes in unincorporated parts of the county in September, the same as in September 2012.

Through September, 718 permits for new single-family homes were handed out to builders this year at a value of $224 million. In the first nine months of 2012, the county issued 431 permits at a total value of $137.3 million, an annual increase of 63 percent.
