Detectives in Southern Oregon believe a murder suspect is in the Portland or Vancouver area and are asking for the public’s help in locating him.

Othon Robert Campos Jr., 41, of Medford is wanted in connection to a homicide reported on Oct. 10, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. He was indicted Thursday on charges of aggravated murder, two counts of murder and first-degree robbery related to the death of Frank Damiano, 62, of Ashland.

Campos previously lived in Vancouver and Southeast Portland and investigators have developed information that he is back in the region, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives say Campos frequents pawn shops and is not believed to have a vehicle so relies on public transportation and taxis.

Portland and Vancouver area law enforcement have been notified to be on the lookout for Campos, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who knows the man’s whereabouts to call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 541-774-8333 or CID@jacksoncounty.org.

Another man, Merlin Elmo Bound III, 34, of Medford was also indicted on murder, robbery and burglary charges in connection to the crime. He was arrested and remains in the Jackson County Jail without bail.
