Eastern Washington upends Southern Utah 34-10

CHENEY, Wash. (AP) — Vernon Adams threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns as Eastern Washington pulled away to defeat Southern Utah 34-10 in a Big Sky Conference matchup Saturday night.

The Eagles (5-2, 3-0 Big Sky) led early following a Samson Ebukam 21-yard interception return for a touchdown. Adams hit Ashton Clark for a 12-yard score to lead 14-3 at half.

Adams tossed two more touchdowns in the third quarter, including a 31-yarder to Kendrick Bourne and a 52-yard strike to Cooper Kupp.

Mario Brown had an 11-yard touchdown in the fourth to fuel the rout.

Adams was 25-for-35 with an interception. He added 58 yards on the ground.

Kupp finished with 11 receptions for 168 yards.

The Redbirds (5-3, 2-2) got their lone touchdown of the game late in the fourth quarter when Mike Sharp found C.J. Morgan for a 29-yard score.

Aaron Kantu was 20-of-31 with 179 yards and three interceptions.
