New Hampshire beats Villanova with late TD 29-28

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Sean Goldrich scored from 4 yards out and Chris Setain ran in the 2-point conversion with 14 seconds remaining to lift New Hampshire to a 29-28 upset and end Villanova’s winning streak at four on Saturday.

UNH (3-3, 2-1) knocked Villanova (4-3, 3-1) out of first place in the Colonial Athletic Association, rallying after Villanova’s John Robertson had scored on runs of 2 and 42 yards in the span of 46 seconds for a 28-21 lead.

Starting from the 50-yard line with 1:02 remaining, Goldrich completed 4 of 6 passes before running in for the score. He was 21-of-28 passing for 236 yards and a score, while running for two TDs. UNH had 237 yards rushing.

Robertson was 15-of-17 passing for 122 yards but had a historic day running the ball with a career-best 256 yards, the second-highest total in school history, on 27 carries and three scores.
