Noel leads Sacred Heart to 56-28 win over Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — RJ Noel threw four touchdown passes and ran for a fifth to lead Sacred Heart to a 56-28 victory over Bryant Saturday.

Noel, who finished with 192 yards passing, staked the Pioneers (7-1, 2-1 Northeast Conference) to a 21-0 halftime lead as he completed touchdown throws of 5, 38 and 9 yards to Tyler Dube. Dube finished the day with 74 yards receiving.

Bryant (3-4, 1-1 NEC) closed to 21-14 in the third quarter, as Mike Westerhaus hit Jordan Harris on two touchdown passes. Noel then countered with a 24 yard TD pass to Bobby Johnson. Jose Depadua got the Bulldogs within seven again, returning the ensuing kickoff 100 yards, a new school record.

Noel scored on a 5 yard run early in the final quarter, stretching the lead to 35-21. On the next Bulldog drive Westerhaus was intercepted by J.D. Roussel, who returned it 47 yards for the score.
