Letter: Vote Leavitt as our mayor

The Columbian
Published: October 20, 2013, 5:00pm

Mayor Tim Leavitt has clearly set himself apart from his opponent Bill Turlay in the race for Vancouver mayor. Leavitt’s campaign is marked by energy and enthusiasm. Being mayor of the fourth-largest city in Washington requires passion and commitment. Our city has been well-served under the leadership of Leavitt. He’s helped foster new jobs by creating alliances with new businesses and has saved taxpayers millions of dollars by demanding fiscal responsibility and accountability.

When Turlay does speak, he reminds us that he’s tragically out of touch with today’s world. Turlay is not the person to lead us into the future. It’s time for progress, not regression. Vote Leavitt for Mayor.
