For four years, all of the students at Lake Shore Elementary have worked to reach their goal of collecting a million pull tabs. The goal was to illustrate in a concrete way how a million of something looks. The pull tabs are from soup, canned meat, pet food or any food or beverage with a pull tab.
"We're the only school in the metro area that's ever collected a million," said Annette Yonemoto of the school's PTA.
On Monday night, students, parents and faculty members at Lake Shore got a first-hand look the million pull tabs during an ice cream social and book sale.
The pull tabs will be donated to support the Ronald McDonald House."It's quite impressive, I think," Yonemoto said of the collection.
