COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Penn State coach Bill O’Brien bristles whenever anyone asks him about the Nittany Lions’ chief rival.
He believes everybody’s a rival, all 12 teams on the schedule.
Still, there’s just something special that happens when the Nittany Lions play Ohio State.
So when O’Brien brings Penn State (4-2, 1-1 Big Ten) to take on the fourth-ranked Buckeyes (7-0, 3-0) in a primetime game on Saturday night, O’Brien and Ohio State counterpart Urban Meyer may try to downplay the rivalry aspect but there’ll still be plenty on the line.
The Buckeyes will try to extend a nation’s best 19-game winning streak, while the Nittany Lions attempt to continue the momentum gained from a four-overtime victory over Michigan.
