CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — J.J. Jude rushed for 114 yards and a score and Jared McClain accounted for two touchdowns to help Eastern Kentucky run past Southeast Missouri State 31-7 in an Ohio Valley Conference matchup Saturday.

Jude opened the scoring for the Colonels (5-3, 3-1 OVC) with a 28-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Eastern Kentucky jumped ahead in the second quarter as Andrew Lloyd kicked a 44-yard field goal and McClain hit Ike Ariguzo for a 45-yard score. Jordan Berry added a 25-yard touchdown run to put the Colonels up 24-0 at half.

The Redhawks (1-7, 1-4) were only outgained 333-320 in total offensive yards, but struggled to sustain drives as they punted six times and fumbled twice. They got on the board late in the third quarter when Scott Lathrop found Paul McRoberts for a 23-yard touchdown, but the Colonels answered quickly with a 1-yard score by McClain.
