BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) — Gibraltar will make its debut as a fully recognized senior international soccer team against Slovakia next month.

The Slovakian soccer association says on its website it will play Gibraltar in a friendly on Nov. 19 in Faro, Portugal.

Gibraltar’s own stadium is being renovated to the standards of UEFA, which it joined as the 54th full member in May.

UEFA finally accepted Gibraltar as a member after long-standing opposition led by Spain, which disputes sovereignty with Britain.

Gibraltar’s national youth and futsal teams have already played in UEFA competitions.

Gibraltar will be in the 2016 European Championship qualifying draw on Feb. 23 in Nice, France.
