TACOMA — A 47-year-old Lakewood man accused of having sex with a 13-year-old Kelso girl has been charged with second-degree rape.
Glen Winans was arraigned Monday and bail was set at $100,000.
Pierce County prosecutors say Winans met the victim online while he was deployed in Afghanistan and they exchanged messages.
Prosecutors say Winans met the victim for the first time last month when he drove to her home in Kelso, took her to a movie and later had sex with her.
Police were alerted last week when a waitress at a Lakewood cafe overheard Winans tell the girl that he liked young girls. The waitress called police. Prosecutors say the victim told officers the two had sex.
