PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh makes its long-awaited debut in the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday night when the Panthers host No. 11 Florida State.

The ACC has rolled out the red carpet, putting the game on national TV against the defending league champions. Pitt coach Paul Chryst says while the game is an important moment for the program, he doesn’t anticipate his players being intimidated by the stage.

The Seminoles are coming off a 12-2 season in which they won the Orange Bowl, the first BCS bowl victory Florida State since 1999. The Seminoles expect it to be a springboard to even bigger things this year.

Redshirt freshman Jameis Winston will start at quarterback. Coach Jimbo Fisher says Winston likes to be challenged. He’ll likely get one against a defense that ranked 17th in the country last year.
