A's call up Milone, Scribner, Neshek

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- The Oakland Athletics have recalled left-hander Tommy Milone from Class A Stockton and righty Evan Scribner from Triple-A Sacramento.

Oakland also purchased the contract of righty Pat Neshek from Sacramento on Tuesday to add pitching depth for the September stretch run. The A's designated lefty Hideki Okajima for assignment and announced that catcher Luke Montz has been released two days after being designated for assignment.

Milone is 10-9 with a 4.28 ERA in 24 starts for the A's this season.

Neshek was 2-1 with a 3.58 ERA in 41 relief appearances when he was designated for assignment Aug. 26.

Scribner is in his fifth stint with the A's in 2013 and has a 5.03 ERA in 13 relief appearances.
