Assistant coach Ben Johnson leaving WSU basketball

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Assistant coach Ben Johnson is leaving the Washington State basketball program.

Johnson has spent the past nine years as an assistant coach under Ken Bone and his predecessors, Tony Bennett and Dick Bennett.

Johnson joined the men’s basketball staff in 2004 under Dick Bennett.

During Johnson’s nine seasons at WSU, the Cougars made two trips to the NCAA tournament, two trips to the National Invitation Tournament and an appearance in the College Basketball Invitational.
