SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson was ejected from Thursday night’s game with the San Francisco Giants by umpire Tom Hallion for arguing a call at home plate.

Gibson argued a call on which Pablo Sandoval of the Giants scored on a sacrifice fly by Hector Sanchez in the fourth inning.

Gerardo Parra’s throw from right field seemed to arrive in Miguel Montero’s mitt the same time Sandoval plowed him over. Sandoval apparently beat Montero back to the base after both were sprawled on the ground.

Gibson immediately came out of the dugout. After a brief discussion, he returned to the dugout but apparently continued the argument and was ejected.

It was Gibson’s third ejection of the season and 12th of his career.
