FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets cornerback Dee Milliner says the Achilles injury that limited him at times in the preseason is healed, and the first-round draft pick is ready for his NFL debut.

Milliner, drafted No. 9 overall in April, is slated to start opposite Antonio Cromartie in the Jets’ secondary against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He says Friday that he’s expecting Josh Freeman and the Bucs offense to test him early, and adds that “I’ll be ready for it.”

Since being drafted out of Alabama, Milliner has drawn obvious comparisons to former Jets star Darrelle Revis, who will be on the other sideline this weekend. But Milliner says he is his own toughest critic and always goes out on the field with the goal “to be great.”
