Prep football player of the week: Nate Beasley, Camas

Nate Beasley of Camas was voted The Columbian's high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 7.

Beasley collected 60.7 percent of the 3,975 votes cast by fans to beat out Thomas Lampkin of Union, who had 28.2 percent.

Beasley, a senior, caught three passes for 119 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 41 yards on 11 carries and another two TDs in Camas' win over Jesuit.

The other nominees were Jonathan Branson of Columbia River, Rey Green of Evergreen and Dallas Goodpaster of Prairie.

Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Saturday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Players may be elected player of the week once per month, and no player can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
