Fever rally to defeat Liberty, 66-63

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Tamika Catchings scored 23 points to help the playoff-bound Indiana Fever overcome a slow start and rally to defeat the New York Liberty 66-63 Friday night.

Erlana Larkins hit two free throws with 2:49 to play to put Indiana in front 61-60, and Karima Christmas hit a 3-pointer just over a minute later to give the Fever a 64-60 lead with 1:30 to play.

The win kept the Fever (16-17) tied with the Washington Mystics for the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

Briann January added 13 points for Indiana and forward Katie Douglas, who had missed 30 games because of a back injury, started and had 11 points in 29 minutes.

DeLisha Milton scored 18 points in the sixth straight loss for the Liberty (11-22), who led 38-32 at halftime after Indiana shot 12 of 38 from the field.
