Flames rally to beat Oilers in shootout

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Sven Baertschi and Roman Horak scored shootout goals to give the Calgary Flames a 6-5 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night in a split-squad exhibition game.

Calgary overcame a 5-2 deficit to force overtime, with Lance Bouma, Josh Jooris and TJ Galiardi scoring in a 4:08 span in the third period.

Ben Street and Dennis Wideman also scored for Calgary. Taylor Hall, Ryan Smyth, Kyle Platzer, Mark Arcobello and Jesse Joensuu scored for Edmonton.

Karri Ramo and Reto Berra split time in goal for Calgary, and Devan Dubnyk and Olivier Roy backstopped Edmonton.

In the other split-squad game, the Oilers beat the Flames 3-2 in Calgary.
