Sacred Heart pulls away from Lincoln in 45-3 rout

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Sean Bell ran for 205 yards and Keshaudas Spence scored two rushing touchdowns as Sacred Heart routed Lincoln 45-3 Saturday in their home opener.

The Pioneers (3-0) jumped ahead early as both Spence and RJ Noel accounted for two touchdowns in the first quarter. Spence ran for two scores and Noel had a 20-yard rushing touchdown in between. Noel then threw a 25-yard score to Bobby Johnson for a 28-0 lead over the Lions (1-1).

Noel completed 10 of 17 attempts for 97 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He added 39 yards rushing.

Spence finished with nine carries for 67 yards for Sacred Heart.

Steve Gilliam was the leading rusher for Lincoln with 16 carries for 84 yards.

The Pioneers totaled up 459 yards of offense with 362 of those on the ground.

The Lions were held to 138 total yards and managed just six passing completions.
