Vancouver police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect in Wednesday’s bank robbery.

Surveillance footage at US Bank at 8700 E. Mill Plain Blvd. captured a man standing in line for a few minutes and then telling a teller that she’s being robbed, the Vancouver Police Department said. He said to remain calm “and no one gets hurt.” The man, who was wearing dark clothing, a beanie cap and appeared to have bleach blonde hair, left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, the agency said.

The robbery was reported at 3:28 p.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses did not see a weapon or a getaway vehicle. Police and police dogs searched the area, but couldn’t find the robber. They say he’s a white man, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 220 pounds with a scruffy beard.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Vancouver police Detective W. Stefan at 360-487-7425.
