Police are searching for a 17-year-old Vancouver boy who has been missing since Tuesday evening.

James Omari was last seen around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the computer lab in his apartment complex in the 4600 block of East 18th Street, said Kim Kapp, spokeswoman for the Vancouver Police Department. Although he was seen in the complex, he never returned home and did not go to school Wednesday.

Omari has autism, but is high-functioning.

He’s described as white, 6 foot 1 inch tall and 150 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes and braces. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black shorts with a silver patch on the side, a black T-shirt with a logo on the front and white tennis shoes. He was carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information on Omari’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
