1A football: La Center 49, Kalama 20

Three second-quarter touchdowns sent the Wildcats on their way to the Trico League win.

La Center led 7-6 at the end of the first quarter, but used touchdowns from Conner Fulton, Conner Wonderly and Trevor Roberson to build a three-touchdown lead by halftime.

“This was the first game that offered us some adversity. We knew what to do and we did it,” said Wonderly, who scored four touchdowns.

Wonderly’s touchdowns included a 41-yard pass from Wyatt Aguirre and a 75-yard kick return.

“This was a good win for La Center and also a good test,” said Aguirre, who ran for the game’s first touchdown.

The La Center defense intercepted two passes, which helped to hold Kalama at bay.
