NEW YORK (AP) — Michael Nebrich threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns and Carlton Koonce carried 27 times for 158 yards and two touchdowns to lead Fordham over Columbia 52-7 on Saturday.

Fordham (4-0) built a modest 10-0 halftime lead on Koonce’s 8-yard touchdown and a 38-yard field goal by Michael Marando.

The Rams simply took over in the third quarter. The scoring started with a defensive touchdown when Ian Williams sacked Brett Nottingham and forced a fumble, which was recovered by Brett Biestek in the end zone. After that, Nebrich went to work, hoisting touchdown passes on three successive drives, including two to Brian Wetzel (8 catches, 116 yards).

Columbia (0-1) got on the board with 3:27 left as Trevor McDonagh hit Ryan Flannery for an 11-yard touchdown.

Fordham has won its past four meetings with Columbia who turned the ball over five times in defeat.
