ATLANTA (AP) — DeMarcus James’ rushing touchdown in overtime was the difference as Jacksonville State (4-0) survived two late scares to defeat Georgia State 32-26 in the Georgia Dome on Saturday.

After falling behind the undefeated Gamecocks in the second quarter, winless Georgia State scored three times in the final quarter — on a blocked punt, a pass and a field goal, twice rallying into ties. Kicker Wil Lutz hit from 26 yards as time expired to force OT at 26-26.

Then James rushed for his third TD, scoring from the 2. James finished with 41 yards on 16 carries. Max Shortell passed for 263 yards but no TDs for Jacksonville State.

Ronnie Bell led Georgia State (0-4) with 250 yards passing and 57 rushing. In the fourth quarter, Georgia State blocked a punt for a touchdown, and scored again when Bell hit Robert Davis from the 10 to tie at 23-23.
