Letter: Roundabouts round up criticism

The city of Vancouver is building new traffic circles along Northeast 136th Avenue. However, the one at the intersection with Northeast 32nd Circle is a total waste of taxpayer funds. That intersection serves only 10 houses on the west and two houses on the east. In addition, both streets are dead ends. If the only purpose is to allow those residents to turn either north or south onto 136th Avenue, why not just have an opening in the concrete barrier?

I would like to know just how much money has been wasted on this and other similar “traffic circles.” Who knows? Who cares? It’s just other people’s money anyway, right? Just call me a disgusted Vancouver resident.
