EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut entered Saturday night’s game with No. 15 Michigan without three starters.

Wide receiver Shakim Phillips, right tackle Kevin Friend and middle linebacker Graham Stewart did not dress for the Huskies (0-2) because of injuries suffered in last week’s 32-21 loss to Maryland.

Phillips, the Huskies’ leading receiver, was coming off a career-best 10 catches for 178 yards and a touchdown against the Terps. But he injured his left hamstring on his 75-yard catch and run for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Both Friend and Stewart injured right ankles in the game. Friend missed the Huskies’ season-opening loss to Towson with a concussion.

All three players had been listed as questionable this week.
