Letter: Guns cannot be blamed for killing

From reading Frank Karben’s Sept. 21 letter, “Most Americans want gun reform,” I think Karben is one who believes what certain folks keep claiming — that guns have killed many, many people each and every day. Wrong. People kill other people. I have several guns in my closet on the top shelf and they have never gone astray and killed anyone. A gun cannot kill, unless it is handled by someone.

In the same vein, doctors kill many thousands each and every day since we, in this country, have legalized murder in the form of abortion. How many of those aborted babies would have grown up, gone to school and become a doctor who just might discover the cure for the common cold?
