HONOLULU — A Marine charged with murder in the death of prostitute vacationing in Hawaii faces a hearing to determine whether he should be court-martialed.
Master Sgt. Nathaniel Cosby’s Article 32 hearing is scheduled to begin Wednesday morning at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The hearing is the military’s equivalent of a preliminary hearing in civilian court.
Cosby is charged with murder, patronizing a prostitute and other charges in the death of Ivanice Harris. Originally from Oregon, she was visiting from Las Vegas to celebrate her 29th birthday. Family spokesman Andre Miller says she made her living as a prostitute.
She was last seen May 16 outside a Waikiki bar. Her body was later found in an isolated area of Oahu’s Leeward Coast.
Miller says Harris’ parents are expected to attend the hearing.
