Harney Heights — Fifty volunteers donated 120 hours of hard work cleaning up King Elementary School on Sept. 14 during the Clark County Connects Day of Service. Substance abuse prevention group PREVENT — an acronym for Prevent, Reduce, Educate, Voice, Empower, Nurture, Transform — and the Safe Communities Task Force teamed up for another year to sponsor the annual event, asking community helpers of all ages to pick up trash, clean play equipment and hang soccer nets at the school.
