Elkhart Plastics Inc., a subsidiary, Ridgefield-based Portland Plastics, plans to expand by adding new equipment and personnel to its Ridgefield plant in October. About 10 workers will be hired to operate the machinery, which includes two independent arm rotational molding machines earmarked for the Ridgefield facility at 6111 S. Sixth Way. The new production workers will operate the machines and finish parts after molding.

Portland Plastics serves the northwest region of the U.S., and produces roto-molded plastic for fuel tanks and a variety of other custom applications. The additions to the plant’s equipment are expected to bring the total number of rotational molding machines to 11 at the plant.

Job applicants will be hired through Express Employment Professionals, 11504 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd. in Vancouver, and Hire Source Staffing Services at 2022 Broadway, Vancouver.
