BASEBALL

Record: 12-6 overall, 2-2 in South Region.

Last week: Split four game with Southwestern Oregon. SWOCC swept 2-0 and 5-2 on Sunday, and Clark swept on Monday 4-2 and 1-0.

Next games: Clark is scheduled to face Mt. Hood of Gresham, Ore., in four games. Friday’s games start at 2 p.m. at Kindsfather Field. Saturday’s DH is at 2 p.m. at Gresham.

SOFTBALL

Record: 5-6 overall

Last week: Split a doubleheader with Pierce, winning 9-6 and losing 7-6.

Next games: Clark is scheduled to open South Region play Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Clackamas. The Penguins visit Lower Columbia in Longview at noon Saturday.

TRACK AND FIELD

Last week: Clark freshman Eric Zechenelly won the 400-meter hurdles at the Willamette Invitational in Salem with a time of 54.29 seconds. Evergreen grad Te’Kwon Wallace was third in the long jump (20-9 3/4), and Camas grad Ali Nuce was third in the 400 (1:00.73). (Click here for complete results)

Next: Clark is scheduled to participate in the Pacific Northwest Relays, April 11-12 at Oregon City HS Stadium.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

New coach: Clark County native Sean Janson has been hired as Clark’s women’s soccer head coach.

Janson, who had also worked with the soccer programs at Fort Vancouver High School, served as the lead assistant for the Clark College men’s program for the past seven years. He is an assistant coach for the Vancouver Victory of the Evergreen Premier League.

Janson replaces Rochelle Hearns, who left for the top assistant job at Portland State.
