Auto theft investigation leads police to west Vancouver residences

Police search five locations in Portland metro area

Portland police served search warrants Tuesday at two west Vancouver houses as part of an ongoing investigation into auto thefts in the Portland metro area.

Investigators with the Portland Police Bureau went to 516 W. Fourth Plain Blvd. in the Carter Park neighborhood and 514 N.W. 40th St. in the Lincoln neighborhood. On Tuesday, police also served warrants at A1 Light Truck Parts and West Coast Car Crushing, both on North Columbia Boulevard in north Portland, and a house on Tomahawk Island.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, a Multnomah County grand jury will consider felony charges.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the auto theft investigation, along with the Oregon Department of Justice, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, the Oregon State Police, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles, the Internal Revenue Service, the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the Oregon Department of Human Services and the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
