Letter: Let kids work at younger age

I am an eighth-grade student and I think lowering the age for work permits would be an excellent idea. It should be lowered to the age of 14 because many 14-year-olds have skills and are mature. I’m talking only about part-time jobs. It would have to be part-time only because students still have to go to school. This would also help kids stay out of trouble. And this way 14-year-olds would know about what their parents suffer. It could also help cover their expenses. And most 14-year-olds would stop being lazy. These are all reasons why we should lower the working age.
