Union scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh on Wednesday to beat visiting Skyview 5-4 in a Class 4A Greater St. Helens League baseball game.

Two singles, a walk and a bunt produced the tying and winning runs for the Titans, who at 6-1 opened up a two-game lead over the 4-3 Storm in the standings.

In the bottom of the seventh, Tanner Myers drew a leadoff walk and was bunted to second by Ethan Beniga. Jack Bauer had a bloop single to center, and Cody Hawken singled to score Myers with Union’s tying run.

After fouling of several pitches with a 2-2 count, Jake Hawken hit a slow roller to shortstop. The Storm got the out at second base, but Bauer scored from second on the play as the Storm could not complete an inning-ending double play.

Cody Hawken went 3 for 3 and knocked in two runs for Union (9-3 overall).

Skyview (6-6) scored three runs in the top of the first inning, when Alec Cheney hit a two-run single. Curtis Perris was 3 for 4 with a triple and scored two runs for the Storm.
