Thirty students from Vancouver School of Arts and Academics swapped their artist paintbrushes for larger brushes and rollers at Silver Buckle Ranch in Brush Prairie on Wednesday, when they painted arena walls and fences. The schoolwide community service project is called the Day of Caring.

The project allows all VSAA students to help in various ways around Clark County. The Vancouver Lowe's store, 11413 N.E. 76th Ave., and Valspar donated 15 gallons of paint plus a gift card for brushes and rollers.

Silver Buckle Ranch is a nonprofit organization that helps youth improve mental, emotional and physical health while nurturing personal growth in life skills by performing ranch work and riding horses.
