Letter: Caring volunteers provide a service

April is National Volunteer Appreciation month. I have the pleasure of working with 54 amazing volunteers at the Hospice Thrift Shop in Longview. Many of them volunteer in other areas in the community. There simply aren’t enough words of gratitude for our volunteers who give the gift of their time and heart to our organization every day.

I encourage everyone to remember that without the hard work of volunteers, many things in our community wouldn’t get done. They care for our vulnerable members, rescue and care for animals, provide clothing and food to those in need, and help our children in the court systems, as well as keep our community safe and beautiful. So this month, take the time to say “thank you for all you do.”
