Hudson’s Bay — Recreation scholarships for low-income children got a big boost when the Parks Foundation of Clark County received a $15,000 grant from the Nike Employee Grant Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation. The grant will provide access to recreational activities through the Vancouver Parks and Recreation Everybody Plays! scholarship program.

“The funds really couldn’t come at a better time as we begin registration for our summer programs and want to ensure that all children in our community have the chance to stay active, build confidence, and have a blast this summer,” said Julie Hannon, Vancouver Parks and Recreation Director.

To apply for a scholarship, call Dave Perlick at 360-487-8314 or visit the program’s website. Twenty-five schools and nonprofit agencies in Southwest Washington and Oregon received grants totaling $250,000 in this latest funding cycle.
