Letter: Bias of mailer is appalling

The Columbian
Published: April 26, 2014, 5:00pm

I received a mailing from Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, titled: “Is the Affordable Care Act Working?” I was appalled at the biased, inaccurate and completely slanted tone of her report.

I wrote Herrera Beutler a letter voicing my general outrage at this mailing sent out at taxpayer’s expense. She gave an example of one person in Vancouver who had “lost her doctor” due to the ACA. She failed to even acknowledge the thousands of Vancouver residents who now have “found” a doctor for the first time due to the ACA.

I hope the editors of The Columbian will perform a fact check on this mailing, as I found a number of wrongly implied “facts” myself. When they have completed an investigation, I hope The Columbian will report the findings to its readers.
