PORTLAND — A Multnomah County grand jury has indicted three men in connection with a burglary and shooting that killed a police dog and wounded an officer.

The grand jury indicted 25-year-old Jemaell Riley, 20-year-old Steven Young and 20-year-old Paul Alan Ropp in a 30-count indictment on Tuesday.

Police say the burglary targeted a police equipment store. After a chase, the suspects crashed their vehicle into a utility pole.

Ropp suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound. The grand jury ruled that the police’s use of deadly force was justified.

Officer Jeff Dorn was shot and wounded in both legs while his dog, Mick, was fatally shot.

Dorn is expected to make a full recovery.

A memorial for Mick is scheduled May 12 at 10:30 a.m.
