Letter: Quick response appreciated

We should be honored to live in Clark County, where we have the Clark Public Utilities services. Late one recent afternoon, our power went off in the Lake View Estates area, along with nearly 1,400 homes in Hazel Dell. I called in and the phone at the utilities office was immediately answered by a friendly lady who said they were on top of the problem, which was at Interstate 5 and 78th Street. She said they had a large number of calls and service would be restored very soon — she was a delight.

This was the first time in our home of four years to have the power go out, and having a disabled husband with oxygen and a breathing machine, I was more than concerned. It was only a short time before the power came back on. And in about another hour, a phone call came to me from the wonderful utilities office to make sure we had power and asking if there was anything else they could do to help.

I called the utilities office that evening and personally thanked them. I’m writing this letter to extend this thank you for marvelous public and professional service. What a gift we have in the Clark Public Utilities.
